Outreach at BRP Church
Let no debt remain oustanding,
except for the continuing debt to
love one another, for he who loves
his fellowman has fulfilled the law.
Romans 13: 7-9
Angel Food at Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church began in October of 2007. We are a host site! Once a month, you (or someone you want to help) can be blessed with fresh meats, fresh or frozen fruits & vegetables, and staple items at an extremely low price! Angel Food Ministries began in 1994 as a small outreach ministry serving a rural community in Georgia. The goal was to help neighbors who needed a hand up in a tough economic time. Today, Angel Food Ministries can be found in over 3,200 communities in 34 states and helps feed over 500,000 families a month.

Outreach Committee is responsible for the denominational offerings: Peacemaking, Joy Offering, and One Great Hour of Sharing, as well as providing emergency help. Our yearly budgeted giving includes: Argentine United Church; LINC-Living in New Community, which helps homeless families learn to keep a budget, keep a job, tutor the youth, while staying temporarily at LINC apartments; REAP, Raytown Emergency Assistance Program, (started by our church); Project Graduation at both Raytown High Schools; and Grace United Church (Peacemaking program for youths). We are also a part of the RCIFA, a local church alliance and Shepherd’s Center.
Activities to support REAP include a Pancake Breakfast and Bake Sales. A Fall Fling Fundraiser’s proceeds go to help scholarships for the youth attending camps, emergency mission needs, and a Presbyterian missionary that works with Romanian orphans.
The Outreach Committee is also active in Habitat for Humanity.
